The Debt I Owe Myself

*Wild Card Post

Used a random word generator, got debt and inside. This is what came of that:

.

I owe a debt to myself.

Created a list for everything with cause for punnishment

Represented in notches.

A sort of way to get even with myself.

It’s become a daily routein.

.

Get out of bed, you’re late.

Skip breakfast, you don’t need it.

Carve a notch.

.

Forgot to study for your math test.

Well, didn’t forget, just put it off while binging Netflix.

Then decided you value sleep over education.

Carve another notch.

.

Accidentally, on purpose told mom to be quiet.

Because you didn’t want to freak out on her more.

And who cares if that’s an oxymoron.

Carve another notch.

.

Ignore the conversation,

But nod to show you’re listening.

Even though your brain is incinerating itself,

And you are completely numb on the inside.

Carve another notch.

.

Have a mental break down because motivation

Is a thing of the past.

And you two no longer associate.

Carve another notch.

.

Though the tally marks should be adding up,

Only a few can be seen.

My payment is overdue,

But I keep granting myself extensions.

Hoping the interest won’t add up too high,

As I continue adding to the bill.

.

I owe myself a debt I can never pay back in full.

Using my life as collateral,

Until my charges become so large,

I foreclose it as repayment.
