Perception

The tip of my tongue holds thousands of words.

My lips are slaves to my mind,

and my jaw allows me to be heard.

And yet,

When it matters the most,

None of them can operate correctly.

Jumbled together,

Hung up on the first sentence,

They can’t utter a word.

.

My vocabulary dissapears,

My jaw fuses shut,

And my lips clamp together.

They all take a moment of hesitation,

Never able to say the right thing.

And by the time I have the

Perfect thing to say,

It’s too late.

But even then,

When can there ever be

A perfect thing to say.

.

Thoughts and words are never the same thing.

We can pretend they connect,

Pretend they share a similar likeness,

Pretend we know how to communicate.

But words can only ever tell you so much.

.

Humans are one of the most

Complicated creatures.

But we describe ourselves

In the most simple of ways.

Feelings,

Emotions,

Passions,

And Thoughts

Are too complex

To express normally.

Kindness can be interpreted

A thousand different ways.

Yet we only have one word for it.

.

Perhaps this is why

So many of us are

Misunderstood.
