In the Night

*Side note, I asked two people to give me a random word. They ended up being bubble and wolf. Then it kind of morphed into this. lol.

I’m a slave to the moon.

Drawn to it’s reflected light,

And a servant to the darkness it pulls into the sky.

The night is the air I breathe,

The water I drink,

And the land I walk on.

In the dark hours of the day,

The world is still, and quiet.

Everything sleeps,

Except the moon and me.

I’m the lone wolf that

Howls in it’s presence,

In search of my own corner of the universe.

A place I can call my own,

A place where I can trap the pockets of air

To create a bubble, a safe haven.

A place I can turn to

When the sun scorches my skin.

.

I stir at dusk when the sun kisses the mountains

And retreat at dawn when their lips part.

Sunrise and sunset are the most beautiful moments.

The sky is filled with color

As night and day greet each other.

.

I’m awake when the world is still,

And still when the world is awake.

Maybe I was never meant to live in the light.

Maybe I was born to dance in the dark.
